It is recommended for women to consult a gynaecologist starting from the age of 15 for annual screening and any time reproductive symptoms such as pelvic, vulvar, and vaginal pain or abnormal bleeding of the womb occur.

Please fill out this form https://www.drlawweiseng.com.sg/contact-us/ to set an appointment with our gynaecologist. Alternatively, you may reach us through our after office hours emergency hotline +65 6339 6659.

Your first consultation with a gynaecologist may mainly involve inquiries from both sides. Your gynae may ask personal questions on reproductive concerns like menstrual period or sexual activity. You may also ask him or her regarding recent changes in your body, sex, and growing up. You may also undergo physical examination (height, weight, and blood pressure) and additional tests (like blood or urine samples).
Most gynae appointments are scheduled for about 20 to 30 minutes for each consultation. It is important to have a clear purpose about the reason for your visit so you can bring up any concerns you have.

No, your visit to the gynaecologist should not hurt, unless you have an underlying health condition. However, some gynecologic procedures may cause slight discomfort, but they do not hurt at all.

You should see a gynaecologist if you have any menstrual, fertility, contraception, or pregnancy questions or issues, as well as any sexual health concerns. An appointment with a gynaecologist is recommended for yearly screening, and any time a woman has issues or concerns regarding vaginal, pelvic, or vulvar pain and abnormal bleeding.

You must schedule an appointment with a gynaecologist for your first prenatal visit. It should be within eight weeks of your last menstrual period.

Yes, gynaecologists are trained surgeons who can perform various surgical procedures. Some of the surgeries at our centre include laparoscopic hysterectomy, removal of cyst, fibroid and tumors.

A medical check-up is necessary after having a baby; this is to ensure that you are recovering well from the labour process and birth. You must see a gynaecologist within three weeks of giving birth even if you are feeling fine.

For uncomplicated pregnancies, you should see your obstetrician every 4 four weeks up to the 28th week of pregnancy. Between 28 and 36 weeks of pregnancy, visit an obstetrician every two weeks. And from 36th weeks to birth, expect to see your obstetrician weekly.

Your first visit to the gynaecologist will involve a talk between you and your doctor. Depending on your conditions, you may undergo certain examinations and tests.

A gynaecologist must have the proper licenses to practice in Singapore. Our centre provides comprehensive care throughout your pregnancy journey. We are also an established center for laparoscopic surgeries.

A doctor’s gender is not directly related to skills and knowledge. Some female gynaecologists are better than males, while some male gynaecologists are better than females; it all depends on their credentials and experience.

Having an appointment with a gynaecologist is very important because there are women’s health conditions that can lead to severe symptoms if they remain unaddressed, especially serious conditions such as gynecological cancers.

Gynaecologists treat a wide array of diseases and health conditions. They deal with issues concerning pregnancy, childbirth, menstruation, and fertility.

A gynaecologist specializes in women’s health, specifically concerning the reproductive system and performs various tests and exams to diagnose diseases and treat them.

An obstetrician is a medical doctor that cares for women during their pregnancy, from prenatal care to postnatal care. They also deliver babies. On the other hand, a gynaecologist is a doctor that specializes in issues or concerns regarding a woman’s reproductive health. An ob-gyn is trained to do all these things.

An appointment with the gynaecologist starts much like any other doctor’s appointment. Your gynaecologist will talk to you to about personal and medical information and may perform exams or procedures depending on your health condition.
